Gods perspective on life

Living it up: Part 2- Gods perspective on life                             Friday June 18, 2010 Ecclesiastes 2:24,25; 3:9-21; Colossians 3”1-4

Bird’s eyeview – God’s eye view:
Life as God sees it. God has designed life with a purpose.

1. God has set eternity in the hearts of men: 3:11
-Eternity puts all aspects of life in the right perspective. Eternity in mind determines our attitudes and perspective on life.
-Part I What is Life all about. Life as seen from Men’s perspective. Now or Never!
-Parable of Luke 12:13-20, Life without God’s perspective is self centered. Notice 11 times the word I, Me, Myself is used. Man says, “Eat, drink and be merry.” Enjoy Today.
-God says, “You fool, this very night your life will be demanded of you.” Lk.12:19,20.

2. Eternity sets eternal purposes: 3:14
-Everything God has created endures for ever. 3:14
-Man is God’s greatest creation. Man will live forever. -Human beings have inherent desire to live forever. It is because God has placed eternity in his heart.

Life is God Centered:
-God has a purpose for man’s creation. God has a design for your life.
-God’s purpose for the creation of man that man would revere the Creator. 3:14
-Stand in Awe of God 5:7 Much drinking and many words are meaningless in life.
-Fear God, 7:18 The context of extremism, Over-righteous, Over-wise, Over-wicked (7:16-18) But the Man who fears God will avoid all extremism. Balanced life in God. -Reverent fear will give long life. 8:12

-In God’s perspective, Man’s highest profession and goal in life is to live in relationship with God. When his time is over on earth, he is then taken into Glory to live with his Creator for ever. Eternal life begins now and is lived in beyond our time on earth. This is the eternal purpose of God for our lives.

God wants our relationship. Eternal relationship. God sent Jesus to die not to become our boss, He was always creator and omnipotent God. He died because he loved us and wanted to enjoy our relationship with Creator God.
-In the perspective of God, the worker is more important that work.

3. God’s perspective on Eternal life tells us there is Judgment 3:16
-In place of judgment, wickedness was there and in the place of wickedness, judgment was there. 3:16
-Righteous are mistreated, unjust are gaining success. This is limited to man’s perspective and thinking. -God will bring to judgment both the righteous and the wicked. A time is set for every activity and deed. 3:17
-The eternal Judge will judge everything. We do not need to waste time in wondering how to vindicate ourselves, or judging each other. God will judge. Man’s thinking: 18-21 speaks of common destiny for man and animal. Man’s perspective.
-Because there is judgment changes this perception. Man will be judged while animals will not be judged, no matter people advocate about animal rights.
-Hebrews 9:27 It is appointed for man to die once and after that the judgment.

He has appointed a time for everything.
-Do not rush life or act before time. Stay in God’s will and he will make all things beautifulin its time. -In His time he makes all things beautiful. 3:11
-Your present time may be worst of all, but remember, he will make all things beautiful in His time if you keep up your relationship with him and love him.

4. God’s perspective on Eternal life tells us there is accountability 3:15
-God will call the past to account. 3:15 -This brings responsibility in man in his response to God.
-All things done will be brought before us, to create the basis of our judgment. The sense of accountability brings our responsibility on how we spend our time, resources and our relationship with each other. Helps us to invest our life well.
-Do what you want but remember, you will have to give an account.

5. God’s perspective on eternal life tells us to enjoy our blessings.
-Eat and drink and find satisfaction in his work. 2:24,25
-It is from the hand of God. Satisfaction in prosperity. Enjoying the prosperity.
-Col. 6:1-6 “God gives wealth, possessions and honour so that he lacks nothing his heart desires but does not enable him to enjoy them, a stranger enjoys his prosperity. One can have 100 children and live many years but if he cannot enjoy his prosperity and does not receive proper burial, a stillborn child is better off than him.”
-Prosperity and blessings are not the same. Prosperity comes through hard work and can be achieved through human efforts but blessings come from the hands of the Lord. He gives the ability to enjoy. This is blessings from the hand of God.
-God gives blessings as a supplement, man makes it the substitute.

Enjoy your life in God. Live It Up!
Eternal life makes us enjoy the Abundant life God has given to us. ‘That everyone may eat and drink and find satisfaction in all his toil, the is the gift of God”. 3:13 -Eating, drinking, working in fact all activities in life can bring satisfaction if one is connected to God.

Col 3:1-4 Higher position, higher perspective. -Eternal life and our position in Christ make us enjoy the blessings of God. WE have the bird’s eye view through Christ.

Col 3:1-4
-We have been raised with Christ. Placed on a vantage point from where we can have the perspective on life as God sees life.
-Seated on heavenly places with Christ Jesus on the right side of God.
-Set your hearts above. Set your minds above. Not on earthly things as people who have no connection with God.
-Your life is hidden with Christ in God.
-Christ is your life. He will appear, He will return. He will come back to judge.
-We too will be in glory.
