Christmas Week: December 17 – 23, 2011

Saturday December 17: Isaiah 9:1-7

1. What have the people sitting in darkness seen? The message of Christmas is Christ the Light has come.

2. What are the names given to Jesus in 9:6 ? What will be the extent of his Kingdom? 9:7

3. The Child born at Christmas has great names. Which name of Jesus do you need the most?

Sunday December 18: Matthew 1:18-25

1. What kind of man was Joseph? What did he do?

2. Mary conceived Jesus by the Holy Spirit, what does this tell you about the origin of Jesus?

3. What would Jesus do? Vs. 21. What was fulfilled at the birth of Jesus?

Monday December 19: Matthew 2:1-6

1. What was the question of the wise men? What was the purpose of their coming to Jerusalem?

2. Why was King Herod disturbed? What did he do?

3. What did the prophecy say about Jesus’ birth?

Tuesday December 20: Matthew 2:7-12

1. What trick did Herod play? What was his actual intent?

2. How did the Wise men respond when they see the star?

3. What was the response of the Wise men when they saw Mary with the child? They were not disappointed.

Wednesday December 21: Matthew 2:13-18

1. What did the angel reveal to Joseph? What did he do?

2. Which prophecy was fulfilled when they fled to Egypt?

3. What did Herod do when the wise men did not return?

Thursday December 22: Matthew 2:19-23

1. What was angelic instruction, when did this happen? When God begins his direction, he does not leave us half way, praise God, he led Joseph every step of the way.

2. Jesus was called Galilean because he was taken to Galilee. Why was Jesus called the Nazarene?

3. Do you appreciate all the prophesies that were fulfilled at the birth of Jesus, Can you see some of the in Ch. 1 and 2?

Friday December 23 : Matt. 1:18-25

1. What kind of man was Joseph and what did he do?

2. What do the names of Jesus and Immanuel mean?

3. Jesus was born to take away the sins and bring light into our lives. Take time out to rejoice and thank Him!

“For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given and the government shall be upon his shoulders and he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God; Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace”.
